DimoreDesign 2018
Traditions and influences.
The Bergamo Historic Mansions Tour is a cultural and tourist marketing project that has been running for over 20 years: a firmly established event on the international and national tourist scene offered to a vast public who each year visit the historic residences of the city.
Since 2011 the Historic Residences Tour has evolved into a more far-reaching formula, inaugurating this first great event in Bergamo dedicated to design, with its new name DimoreDesign Bergamo.
Traditional visits on the tour include those of Palazzo Moroni, Palazzo Terzi, Palazzo Agliardi and Villa Grismondi Finardi, and exceptionally from 2014 it was joined by other historical residences and buildings of particular significance, such as Casa Trussardi , in 2012 the Palazzo of the central headquarters of Credito Bergamasco and the halls of the Centro Piacentiniano, site of the old eighteenth-century fair.
Usually open to the public on several weekends in Spring, these prestigious residences (some of which are still lived in by their distinguished owners) each boasts their own specific origins and an equally unmistakable history, and preserves works of art of exceptional value and undisputed historical and artistic interest: from the designs by Tiepolo to the frescoes by Guarinoni d’Averara and the paintings of important artists such as Moroni (the celebrated “Cavaliere in rosa”), Luini and Tallone.
The by now well established visit program envisages tours with selected guides who are specialized in various languages, with the possibility of following a route on foot that leads from one residence to another one.
