Casa dell’Arciprete

History

A civil Reinassance jewel, Casa dell’Arciprete, located at no.3 Via Donizetti, owes its current name to Don Lorenzo Tomini Foresti, archipriest of the Cathedral, whom he acquired in 1800 and then bequeathed to the parish. Tradition has it that the building, with its elegant monumental front, dates back to 1520 by means of Isabello, while most recent studies anticipate its construction about 30 years, tying it to a realization commissioned by the jurist Benedetto Ghislandi. The interiors of the house boast decorations from different eras, including the nineteenth-century frescoes by Bonomini.
